You work directly with the owner
Lance Audette is involved in every project Laurcon accepts. There is no account manager between you and the person responsible for the outcome. When a decision matters, you speak with the person who makes it.
Why Laurcon
Choosing a builder for a multi year, multi million dollar project deserves better than marketing language. Here is what actually distinguishes Laurcon Development, and how you can verify each claim.
The Difference
Lance Audette is involved in every project Laurcon accepts. There is no account manager between you and the person responsible for the outcome. When a decision matters, you speak with the person who makes it.
Building near the Pacific is not the same as building inland. Corrosion, marine moisture, wind driven rain, seismic detailing, and coastal design review all change how a home must be assembled.
Three decades of building in Coronado, La Jolla, and along the North County coast produces judgment that no amount of general construction experience replaces.
Our subcontractors and craftsmen have worked with Laurcon for years, in many cases decades. That continuity means better pricing, better scheduling priority, and a shared understanding of the standard before work begins.
We build a detailed line item budget in preconstruction and report against it throughout the project. Allowances are realistic rather than optimistic, and every change is priced in writing before it is executed.
Laurcon deliberately takes on a small volume of work. That constraint is what allows the leadership team to be present on every site rather than managing from a distance.
On tight coastal lots, construction affects everyone on the block. We plan site logistics, deliveries, parking, dust, and noise with the neighborhood in mind, which protects both your relationships and your permits.
Laurcon is family owned and operated, and a second generation is now in the field. The company's reputation is the family's reputation. That alignment is the most reliable quality control system there is.
Verify Everything
A reputable builder welcomes verification. Here is exactly how to check ours before you sign anything.
Look up California license 839482 with the Contractors State License Board to confirm status, classification, bond, and any complaint history.
Ask for current general liability and workers compensation certificates naming you as an additional insured. We provide them without being asked twice.
We will connect you with homeowners whose projects resemble yours in scope, budget, and community. Ask them the hard questions.
Fair Questions
We limit our active project count deliberately so that leadership is present on each site regularly rather than occasionally. We will tell you exactly what else is in progress and who is assigned to your project full time.
A dedicated superintendent runs your site daily. On Laurcon projects that is typically Connor Audette, with Lance involved in planning, budget, and key field decisions throughout.
Something always goes wrong on a custom home. A hidden condition appears, a material is discontinued, a jurisdiction changes an interpretation.
What matters is speed and honesty. We bring problems forward immediately with options and pricing rather than absorbing them quietly and presenting a surprise later.
We provide a written warranty on workmanship along with manufacturer warranties on installed products, and we maintain a documented punch and follow up process after move in.
Beyond the formal term, we answer the phone. A significant portion of our work comes from homeowners we built for years ago.
Begin
Every Laurcon project begins with a conversation about the land, the vision, and the budget. There is no obligation and no pressure, only an honest read on what it will take to build well.
