About this build
La Jolla Farms is one of the most exacting neighborhoods in San Diego County to build in, and this residence set an equally exacting standard for finish. Contemporary architecture leaves nothing to hide behind. Every plane, reveal, and transition is visible.
Polished concrete floors were poured, cured, and protected under a schedule that treated them as a finish material from day one rather than a slab to be covered later. Steel framed glass doors were templated on site after framing so that the courtyard opening would land true.
A sculptural chandelier anchors the main volume, supported by structural blocking that was set months before the fixture arrived. Five bedrooms and six bathrooms are arranged around the courtyard, giving the home a quiet center.
